PM Modi started his two-day US trip on the Thursday by an interview with US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and also had talks with the world's wealthiest man Elon Musk, at Blair House in Washington, where he will be staying for two days during his US visit.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Washington DC in the early morning hours on Thursday (late Wednesday, EST) to begin the two days of his US visit. Modi's US trip's most anticipated part was the bilateral meeting he had with US President Donald Trump which comes amid threats to tariffs.
Trump on Thursday announced his plans to raise US tariffs to match tax rates other countries have to pay on imports. Trump also cited India as the nation with the highest tariffs. His comments came shortly before a meeting with Prime Minister Modi.
The tariffs could refer to taxes imposed on Indian imports into the US in exchange for which Trump previously stated would be equivalent to taxes imposed by other countries on their goods.
